Vladimir Khomyakov
Pianist Vladimir Khomiakov was Born in 1984 in Kirovograd (USSR), in a musicians' family. His father is one of the most outstanding Russian organists, mother is a piano teacher (both are graduates of Odessa State Conservatory). He began his music studies at the age of four with his mother. He has performed recitals in Russia (St.Petersburg, Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Yaroslavl etc.) as well as in United States, Germany, Holland, Spain, Italy and Sweden as a solo-pianist and a chamber musician.
Mr. Khimiakov has won many international Competitions, including St.Petersburg Open Piano Competition (St.Petersburg, Russia, 2000, I Prize), Anton G.Rubinstein International Piano Competition (Dresden, Germany 2005, III Prize and Audience Prize), Emil Gilels 90th Anniversary International Piano Competition (Odessa, Ukraine, 2006, Diploma), ISAM International Piano Competition (Frankfurt, Germany 2008, I Prize), Maria Canals International Piano Competition (Barcelona, Spain 2009, Diploma), Jose Iturbi International Piano Competition (Los Angeles, USA, 2009, 4th Place, President's Prize. Audience Prize) and Hilton Head International Piano Competition (Hilton Head Island, USA,Medalist).
At present , Mr. Khomiakov is a post-graduate student of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory with Professor Yuri Martynov and at USC Thoronton School of Music in Los Angeles with Professor Daniel Pollack. He has studied in many Master Classes, including those of Professor Dmitry Bashkirov (Mozarteum Academy, Salzburg, Austria 2004), Professor Mikhail Voskresenskiy (Holland Music Sessions, Bergen, Holland 2006) and Professor Lily Dorfman (International Summer Academy of Music, Michelstadt, Germany 2008).
Mr. Khomiakov receives fund and grant from "The New Names" International Foundation (Moscow, Russia), "Anna Artobolevskaya" Foundation (Moscow, Russia), and Fe Bland Foundation (Santa Barbara, USA).
