Important Facts of Competition

Dates:

November 1, 2010 to November 8, 2010.



Eligibility:

Pianists of all nationalities must be no older than 35 years old as of November 8, 2010.



Competitor Selection:

Only DVD form for audition will be accepted, no CDs or cassette tapes. Applicants' audition DVD and Biography will be evaluated by the Artistic Committee. Twenty (20) competitors will be chosen to compete in the CCC Toronto International Piano Competition 2010. Alternates will be advised.



Competition Rounds:
  • Round I & II: Twenty (20) competitors will give a total 55 minute solo performance each.

  • Round III: Six (6) semi-finalists will be selected to give a 50 minute solo performance each.

  • Round IV: Three (3) finalists will be selected to perform with Orchestra.



Competition Piano:

  • Two Steinway Grand Piano Model D. and one Yamaha concert grand piano CFX. Piano try-out day will be on November 1, 2010 at the P.C Ho Theatre.



Air Transportation:

Competitors are responsible for their own air transportation.



Host Family Accommodations:
  • From arrival (October 31) to departure (November 8), lodging and transportation will be provided by host families. Practise pianos will be arranged for all.

  • Should competitors desire alternative lodging options, they will then be responsible for their own transportation to the competition venue.

  • Beyond the dates stated above, competitors will make their own arrangements.
